There’s a great article over at Digital Book World about the growth of eBook sales in the children’s book market (up 173.9% in March 2012 to $19.3 million from $7.0 million in 2011). This is one of the last bastions resistant to eBook adoption, and I believe that’s due more to slow technology migration through a family (meaning the parents have slowed their purchases of new tablets, smartphones and eReaders so the kids haven’t received their old tech as quickly) than from kids’ resistance to eBooks. But it’s an interesting space to watch since kids tend to trend quickly and I’ve been waiting for children’s eBooks to explode in growth for years. My advice? Watch this space closely all you eBook readers and writers.
