I just returned from an action-packed weekend at the DFW Writers’ Conference in Dallas and boy-howdy did I have a great time. The writers were friendly and excited. The agent guests were a perfect blend of pros and newbies from big and boutique agencies (something for everyone!) and the weather was absolutely perfect (even though I didn’t get to experience much of it!)
It was also magical to meet my client Kait Nolan for the first time, and hang out with her and another stellar client, Victoria Scott, at Texas de Brazil (a churrascaria) on Sunday evening after the conference wound down. We laughed so much, my sides were splitting. Or maybe that was from the enormous amount of meat we consumed. Really, that restaurant is crazy.
I have committed to 20+ writers conferences this year, and they are exhilarating and exhausting in equal measure, but as an agent you never know where your next bestselling author client may be lurking. And I do love to meet writers from other parts of the country.
If you want to see where else I’ll be this year, check out our personal appearances page at larsenpomada.com! Come meet me at a writers conference in your area.
